The other day, as I walked to an annual medical check-up appointment, I had the deeply alarming thought that I was ACTUALLY looking forward to it. The reason? Because I wanted to talk. About ME. If this is not a rousing endorsement for the power of therapy, best friends, or kind animals that don’t talk back THEN I KNOW NOTHING.
Know what else I like?
Taking assessments. About ME.
(THIS IS A SHAME-FREE ZONE, PEOPLE.)
Just a few days ago, in fact, I tweeted about one I took telling me what book I would love based on what American Girl Doll I had as a child. It was about American Indians and the prairie and seemed just about right. #kristen
Today my mentor Michael Hyatt has a new LIFE assessment out, all about scoring your life so you can get it to where you want to be in 2019.
Here’s what I like about it:
It is nice, but it doesn’t sugarcoat the situation. It didn’t hit me over the head and say “CLAIRE YOUR SCORE OF ___ IS ABOMINABLE!” but it did encourage me with a lovely graph to say “Hi Claire, THIS area of your life could use some lovin’ on!”
I like that.
In business, we measure so much. It helps us see what’s working, what’s not, and where the big opportunities are to improve. So why don’t we give our health, our finances, and our relationships the same advantage?
It takes 5-10 minutes and it gave me an immediate snapshot of where I could do so. (It’s also fascinating, as I was really surprised by one area that I THOUGHT needed work but actually seems pretty sweet.)
All you have to do is read a series of descriptive statements and pick the one that most closely aligns with where you perceive yourself to be. You then refine a bit based on your unique situation. It all adds up to your LifeScore™. It’s simple. But it will instantly show you your opportunities to grow this year.
The assessment is free as a bird, but it’s only available for a few days and the hoards are gonna gobble this up fast.
