The honeymoon is over my friends, and I mean that literally.
Last night, in our last vacation-filled night in Singapore, we passed a restaurant. With my poor eyesight intact, I commented, “PR to-go? That’s a funny name for a restaurant.”
Dry as tonic, @argentinajose replied: “PREGO.”
Ah, how the mind reveals our one track mind.
As the sharp pain of vacation’s end leaves me reaching for my medication, I admit something: I need help.
Firstly, I’m worn out. A 15-day honeymoon in which you spend most of it working like a dog at 50% capacity is not ideal for the heart and soul. From experience, I can assure that you end up spending the whole time feeling guilty for either not relaxing more, or not working more. Lovely. Not shockingly, it leaves one actually not terribly refreshed at vacation’s end. Now, if you want to make the valid point here that people don’t in their right mind go on delayed honeymoons before their book is launching, I will agree. However (sadly) it was the least busy time in the next six months.
Secondly, I’m in over my head. The list of tasks to complete and ideas to have before the book launch on September 6 is, well daunting. And I’m not, and never have been superman.
Although I am happy to have some help for the many balls I have in the air right now, I need more.
If you’re familiar with book launches (especially the TV/Radio side), please contact me with your resume and rates (in rubies, preferably) for some freelance work.
P.S. If you requested an advanced copy, it’s on it’s way. If you’ve requested info about how to offer Twitter for Good for free to your mailing list, that’s also coming to your inbox soon. If you’ve requested a flash interview, same story.
The good? You will never forget your HM. The bad? You will never forget your HM. The ugly? There is no such thing as a working HM.
I’m here to help. Looking forward to reviewing your book. Will be contacting a couple of people that have worked on successful book launches to see if they can participate in turning this madness into success. Gods Speed, sista!
