Good Books. Thanks 🙂
Hello Claire,
Congratulations. Seems like a great read. I would love a copy. I performed the steps you mentioned above but can’t seem to get it off amazon or barnes and noble. Atleast the free version you mentioned.
Thanks,
Prerak
You need to change the download to a Nook Book to get the free version. If you dont have a Nook, you just need to create a BN account and download the appropriate APP…phone, desktop, tablet ect.
Claire,
Congratulations on publishing your book! And thank you for featuring the Born2Fly Project to stop child trafficking and our annual Twitterthon. We hosted events on 09/09/09 and 10/10/10, so yes, we’re looking at another one on 11/11/11. Of course we’ll look at the lessons learned from our past Twitterthons.
And of course we’ll read Twitter for Good before we do anything!
Congrats and thanks again,

What a great offer! Sounds wonderful. Only problem; I just had my ereader stolen. And I am in the middle of the Brazilian rainforest. Any chance of accessing it by pdf?
Good job, and good on you!
Where do you charge it?
Yeah download the app on your PC and you can;)
I have to provide credit card details which will be stored to download?????
Congrats Claire! The book is awesome and a lot of social pros and newbies will thank you upon reading it. I don’t know how you find the time to do everything you do, but keep up the great work. You’re helping a lot of folks. Good on ya’!
I was honored to receive an advance copy to review; it was fabulous! There was just enough basic information to make the book accessible to a fairly new Twitter user, yet replete with a sufficient number of sophisticated strategies to satisfy even the most experienced Tweeter. Thank you, Claire; I don’t know how you manage to do all you do, but please don’t burn yourself out!
Looks like a fascinating book! Although when I clicked on Barnes & Noble (I’m a nook user), it was listed for $15.80. Is there a code to put in? Thanks!
Hi, this seems to be only available in the Us kindle store. Possibility for an international offer?
Love the concept of free (free is good) but I haven’t figured out all the steps yet. give me time, any friend of Deanna has to be good, so I’ll “Share This”
When I got on Barnes and Noble, and it too listed $15.89, but then I decided to look under the Nook section and type in “Twitter for Good”, and it shows up as a free download.
I’m reading it now, and it’s looking good so far. 🙂
I just downloaded it and I’m looking forward to reading it – thanks
Nope… can’t get it for free in the Canadian Kindle store either. Booo…
My apologies! It is there. I was on the page for the paper book as opposed to Kindle book. Downloaded for free!
Thanks a ton!
Hi Claire,
Congrats on the launch! Happy to review and, yes, I do need it explained again. I went to both sites you mentioned and cannot find the free download option.
Best, Tim
Hi Claire, the link takes me to the Amazon US site. However, there is nothing to say it is free and it says the cost is $9.99. How do I access the free download?
Regards
Graham
Now it’s not only not free, it’s gone up to $17.35! What’s going on? Your message wasn’t clear if it was midnight Mon/Tues or midnight Tues/Weds…

PROPOSAL FOR TRAINNG ON MAKING CHARCOAL
FROM RICE HUSKS.
1.0 Introduction:
Ifakara Environment and Community Development Group (IECDG) is a community based organization with 30 active members. It started in June 2008 in Kilombero District Morogoro Region Tanzania and its registration number is 0348/37. The Ifakara Environment and Community Development Group structure is headed by a board which its members are elected after every four years. Under the board their is an executive committee headed by the chairperson who is also the organization Chairperson who is elected after a period of four year. The executive committee also comprises of other five members; secretary, Programme officer, Treasurer and two members. The Organization annual meeting meets twice in a year while the Executive committee sits on monthly bases. The Ifakara Environment and Community Development Group is active in all villagers in Kilombero District.
The main objective of Ifakara Environment and Community Development Group is to protect the environment and its natural resources through educating villagers in Kilombero District who are the most affected when the environment is destroyed.
The environment has been recently most affected by the influx in the District of herdsmen and their large herds of cattle hence damaging the land its vegetation as well as the water sources. Ifakara Environment and Community Development Group is trying to protect and replace the damaged environment through:
Facilitation of village communities to seek membership in the organization so that they meaningfully practically effectively participate in protecting the environment sustainability.
Involve villagers to plant trees
Develop strategies to replace what has been destroyed so far.
Advise the Government to annect laws that will protect the environment and its natural resources for future generation use.
Current Ifakara Environment and Community Development Group is facilitating village community to protect the environment through holding public meetings to educate villagers on how the environment has been damaged .Also the organization is managing tree seedlings and tree planting in villages in the District.
o Furthermore the organization is protecting identified water sources in the District.
o Advocate to the government to strongly protect the environment for future conservation. Future plans include:
o Expand more environment protection activities to cover all villages in the District.
o Train women on alternative sources of fuel – charcoal from rice husks is the priority. Seedling establishment to meet the demand of the villagers.
o Tree planting to replace the lost trees in the villages.

The proposal is intended for training of women on making charcoal from rice husks as an alternative source of energy to be used for cooking and generation more income to women.
2.1 Problem statement:
In Kilombero firewood is the main source of energy which families use extensively for cooking. Women are responsible for collecting and using fire woods. The Ifakara Environment and Community Development Group is seeking financial support to train women in making charcoal from rice husks. Currently husks are thrown and are not used. The production of rice husks in Kilombero District is high most villagers produce paddy and while processing paddy to get rice husks are just left out and not used. Ifakara Environment and Community Development Group aims to use the rice husks to produce charcoal and use this charcoal for cooking. Charcoal from husks will provide and alternative source of energy and income to women in Kilombero District. This process is a new idea and technology which requires determined commitment to undertake and get adopted by villagers women in Kilombero District a task Ifakara Environment and Community Development Group is prepared to undertake and manage with effective results to the target group. Hi Claire,
I think that there is a whole lot of confusion about your free book download, me included. Hopefully this will bring some light to the confusion, well at least mine.
You claimed that we could download a free copy of your book at Amazon and Barnes & Noble, yet when I went there they want to charge for downloading it.
Your link on your site says download the free book, yet when we download that it only gives us the first chapter of the book, not the free copy you advertise we will get.
Even when I did find the free download version hidden away, it too only let me download the first chapter as well.
Finally you claim that the free download will be available for 24 hours starting at midnight Tuesday(yesterday or last night as it were). Well its not Wednesday the 7th at midnight, which would be today at midnight, 24 hrs as you said, so the time period hasn’t even expired yet your telling everyone sorry they missed the opportunity to download your book for free!!!???
Can you see the misleading and incorrect information you are providing to us all. it frankly borders on False Advertising, and at the least is totally misleading and unprofessional.
So its no wonder you have a lot of people upset at this whole thing.
I believe you need to appologize to the poople emailing you that are upset for misleading them the way you have. At minimum they deserve to have this whole situtaion properly explained to them by you.
Totally Disappointing Claire!!
Keith
Keith — I think you’re confused.
The free download was available from 12:00 am PST Tuesday to 12:00 am PST Wednesday on a number of platforms (amazon, barnes and noble) in the US and UK. Many thousands of individuals downloaded it. Sounds like you missed the window. The platforms themselves decided if it was free.
My website only offers a free “sample” or “free chapter” of the book.
Awesome resource Claire congrats!
I got it on the iBookstore for free yesterday 😀
btw are related? hehe
Thanks for the great read Claire (the free download was a great touch).
I hope you don’t mind me using an image of the cover in a review I wrote on my blog (http://www.markpretorius.com/2011/10/09/twitter-for-good/ )
