This morning I was excited to read on Mashable (right before meeting many of the Mashable folk at a Twitter philanthropic event — but more on that later) that Mark Zuckerberg’s gift is much more than a $100 million donation to the New Jersey public schools.
Instead — he’s making the grant in efforts to jumpstart a new education foundation: Startup Foundation.
Great name, and a great logo, no?
If you haven’t seen the video yet of his chat with Oprah, make sure to check it out here:

I must say that I was really impressed with Mark’s appearance here. From the fact that he had initially wanted the donation to be anonymous to way Mark handled Oprah’s questions about the upcoming movie as well, this was classy philanthropy all around.
And, finally, terribly sorry for the horrible spelling on my tweet. Someone that saw @Biz retweeting it mentioned that I managed to misspell Zuckerberg’s name and leave out that it’s not a $100 gift – but a $100 million gift;)
